F. Bradley Hassell

F. Bradley Hassell graduated from Florida Technological University in 1975 with a B.S.B.A. in finance and graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1978. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978. Mr. Hassell was a senior judicial research assistant for the Fifth District Court of Appeal before beginning his defense practice with the Smalbein, Eubank firm in 1982, and in 1988 became a founding member of the current firm. Mr. Hassell is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Aviation Law by the Florida Bar. He is a member of the Volusia County Bar Association, the Florida Bar, the Federal District Courts for the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida, the Federal Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Defense Research Institute, Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association. Mr. Hassell specializes in the defense of personal injury, wrongful death and products liability cases, insurance coverage questions and disputes, appellate practice and aviation law. Mr. Hassell enjoys an A-V rating in Martindale-Hubbell.

Cynthia B. Beissel

Cynthia B. Beissel graduated from Mississippi State University in December 1991 with a B.A. in Marketing; in May 1995 she obtained another degree in paralegal studies and then graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Law in December 2002. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 2003.  In 2003, Ms. Beissel began her career as a law clerk for The Honorable David A. Monaco at the Fifth District Court of Appeal. After finishing her clerkship with Judge Monaco, Ms. Beissel then became a senior career staff attorney for the Honorable Jacqueline R. Griffin at the Fifth District Court of Appeal. Ms. Beissel’s current practice includes: first and third party insurance disputes, general civil practice, the defense of personal injury, wrongful death and products liability cases, and appeals.

Barbara Reid

Barbara Reid is an Associate Attorney at Hassell-Legal, P.A. in Daytona Beach, FL.  She defends insurance companies in automobile accident claims, property insurance claims and general liability claims. Barbara was born and raised in Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Italian. She earned her juris doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2010, where she earned American Jurisprudence Awards in the area of Contracts and Equal Employment Opportunity. During law school, she worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the Oklahoma City law firm of Foliart, Huff, Ottaway & Bottom, assisting attorneys in the defense of birth injury, medical malpractice and products liability actions.

Lawrence I. Hauser


Lawrence I. "Larry" Hauser graduated from Rollins College with a degree in history and political science and a master of science in management.  He graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1982 and has been admitted to practice law since that time. For more than thirty years Larry has been a civil litigator in federal and state courts throughout Central Florida.  His practice is focused on the defense of automobile accident cases, premise liability cases, first party homeowners coverage cases and concomitant insurance coverage issues. Larry has also served as legal counsel for the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.  He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator.

Scott E. Garner


Scott was born at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan, and he graduated from Florida State University in 2007 with a B.A. in Philosophy. Between college and law school, he earned his commercial pilot's license, with flight instructor ratings, and later served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. While serving in the National Guard, he earned his juris doctor degree from the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University. At school, Scott focused on preparing for a career in civil litigation. He worked as a certified legal intern at the Penn State Law Veterans and Service members Legal Aid Clinic and clerked for the Honourable Judge William Arbuckle III in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Scott was heavily involved in the school’s moot court where he advocated on and coached teams in completions, and eventually served as the Executive Vice-Chair for the University Park campus on the Moot Court Board.
